about this project

Haldan Road, Chingford

Waltham Forest Council have approved the transformation of a 0.13ha brownfield plot in Chingford. The project, developed by Regent Land, entails replacing 33 disused garages with a semi-circular, two-storey building featuring five "upside-down" homes. We played a pivotal role in assisting the architects during RIBA Stage 2 to achieve the necessary planning approvals.

The structural scheme design includes an option for a reinforced concrete (RC) frame supported on localised piled foundations. Additionally, an alternative proposal involves a lightweight steel frame structure that can be constructed in a module type fashion. This structural versatility allows for adaptability in construction methods while meeting the project's specific requirements.

For visual representations of the project, reference renders by the architect can be found at cleararchitects.co.uk, offering insights into the envisioned transformation of this brownfield plot into riverside homes.
